SERVICES AT ASKHAM HOUSE
 
Single, double or larger than average family accomodation is available to suit individual need with options of ensuite facility if required. All rooms are personaized with a high quality of furnishings. With an integral courtyard, service users are afforded privacy and shelter from the elements - allowing service users to take advantage of "nice days" even during the Spring and Autumn seasons.
Kitchen & Food
Kitchen facilities are shared with sister home Askham Place. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped – food is freshly cooked each day. A daily well balanced and nutritious menu ensures service users maintain a sense of enjoyment while dining.
Laundry
The laundry area is well equipped. All laundry is done in-house and shared with sister home Askham Place.
Health & Special Needs
Social and Nursing Care provision is provided with 24 hours nursing care. Special needs are discussed with service users and their families – be it personal, social, hygiene, dietary or health. The local Doddington Hospital is virtually next door and the Doctors’ Surgery is but a few minutes away. Doctors, District Nurses, Chiropodists, Hairdressers and other health and beauty professionals provide for all the clients’ health and beauty needs.
Activities
Numerous in-house and out-door activities including social outings are planned throughout the year through service user involvement. Askham Care Homes has its own wheelchair friendly minibus used solely for the service users at Askham Homes. A family support group, Askham Family Circle, is encouraged to take an active role in the social and personal needs of service users.
Day Care
Askham House provides day care services to local residents from the community. Residents are picked up in the Askham minibus every morning and brought to the Home for the day. This provides an excellent opportunity for service users to interact and socialize with residents from the village and vice versa. They are then taken back home in the evening in the Askham minibus.
SERVICES AT ASKHAM PLACE
 
Accommodation
Askham Place is a purpose built specialist Care Home with Nursing registered for 15 service users set within six acres of tranquil surroundings in the village of Doddington, close to March in Cambridgeshire.
All of the 15 single bedrooms are over 15 square meters in size; each with overhead tracking and a mix of en-suite showers and baths. All bedrooms have both an internal entrance as well as an external “personal” entrance with a wheelchair friendly path.
Askham Place boasts 2 assisted baths (Parker & Arjo) which provide hygienic bathing in addition to being occupational and physiotherapy aids.
Whereas the Home operates a no smoking policy, service users’ choice is paramount. There is a special area designated and may be used for this purposed during specific times in the day.
